To early to start planning ahead? We don't think so!
Below you can read our general description of our apprentice position. For 2011 we will be expanding and our apprentice needs may triple! We begin going over apprentice inquiries in November and December and we like to have decisions made by February. This ties in nicely with our February/ March kiddings. Our apprentices should expect to work 10-12 hour days and take part in all duties here on a rotation system. We strongly believe in learning by doing so we work closely while our apprentices gain a level of confidence and then they are able to easily take over various jobs with out hesitation. Our work load is constant but very rewarding and we take great pleasure in sharing our skills and watching our apprentice gain confidence. We do try to balance work with other learning experiences, break times and social exchanges.

WORKING WITH ANIMALS AND SUPPLYING FOOD CAN BE SOME OF THE MOST REWARDING WORK YOU DO!
We are beginning to look for an apprentice for the 2011 season. We will have 2-4 spots open. We are looking for someone who would like to know about all aspects of our small family dairy and what it takes to transition into a business. Rustic living arrangements are available, most food is provided and a small stipend is offered. Must be hard working, flexible, like kids and have a good sense of humor.
